Austin, TX Artist

Courtney Gray always knew she was an artist, but began truly focusing on creating with her hands in college at Austin Community College. Through her studies, Gray found herself particulary drawn to metals as a medium and began creating using copper and steel.

In 1996, while studying Art Metals and Welding Technology, she found a job as a casting technician and bench jeweler at an Austin, TX manufacturing company.  Bench work felt so right that she immediately fell in love with the idea of combining her scultural styles and techniques with gemstones and precious metals.  From then on she treated the to fields of sculpture and jewelry, as mutually inclusive and studied each one with a mind to shared designs and techniques.
